Barry Johnston serves as Joint Coordinator of the Policy Response Unit (PRU), where he cultivates partnerships with government departments and key stakeholders while developing sustainable operational frameworks for the unit’s future.

With over twenty years of experience spanning Life Sciences and Engineering, Barry has contributed to shaping government policy and driving major industry initiatives. Barry has successfully secured substantial funding to advance research priorities across both private and public sectors, including contributing to recent City and Growth Deals in Northern Ireland to strengthen the region’s Life Sciences sector.

His skill set encompasses qualitative and quantitative data analysis, programming, and automated analytical workflows, enabling evidence-based approaches to complex policy challenges.
